Role:
  • As the Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable, high-performance data infrastructure and pipelines that enable us to manage and analyse vast amounts of data effectively.
  • Build and maintain cloud data warehouse/data infrastructure.
  • Implement ETL procedures.
  • Automate and optimise processes.
  • Understand and connect data sources and present data in an easy to read format to stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot issues with data integrity and report these findings across all areas of the business.
  • Applying advanced level calculations on the data set.
  • Train users and stakeholders on how to use the information.
  • Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies, trends and best practices in data engineering.

Key attributes and skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL is essential
  • Understanding and experience of building a Cloud Data Warehouse
  • Experience of cloud platforms such as Azure
  • Use of ETL tools
  • Data modelling
  • Synapse
  • Databricks
  • Power BI
  • Experience gained from a manufacturing background, ideally FMCG
  • The ability to build strong relationships and to engage, negotiate, influence and collaborate across the organisation.
  • Ability to explain data and technical concepts to non-technical teams
